Ecstasy must be forgotten is a double screen installation hailing from Evangelia Kranioti’s documentary feature Obscuro Barroco on the dizzying heights of gender and metamorphosis in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Following the path of the recently deceased iconic transexual figure Luana Muniz, bath the film and the installation, explore different quests for the self through transvestism, carnaval and political struggle. ln turn, they ask questions about the desire for transformation of the body, both intimate and social. Obscuro Barroco had its world premiere at the Berlinale Panorama 2018, winnning the Teddy Jury Award (The Teddy Award is the oldest LGBT film award at a general film festival).
