Influenced by Tsukamoto Shinya’s 1989 film “Tetsuo: The Iron Man”, Cutting mushrooms invokes a curiously inaccurate persona evoked through a process of unfinished transformation, the mutation of multicellular clothing, and the jarring surfacing of everyday objects and raw voice. This elusive solo brings about the proliferation of errant bodies. Beyond personal imagery, Cutting mushrooms reveals an alternative mutability, a reflection of the conflicts at work in our society.

Kidows Kim
After a career in graphic design, mime and studies at the CNDC in Angers, Kidows Kim continued his research at the ICI-CCN Montpellier master’s degree course from 2018 to 2020. His creations constitute an intimate cosmogony in the form of a “dictionary of fantastic creatures”. He recently unveiled the first chapter in a strangely monstrous solo called Funkenstein (2021). He delves into ‘Monstrarchology’, his method for excavating an organic form composed of unfinished microscopic transformations and irrationally collected underground imagery.
