Pol Pi
is a transmasculine choreographer originally from Brazil, based in France since 2013, the year he joined the exerce master in choreography program at the CCN of Montpellier. Before encountering contemporary dance, he worked in theater, music and opera, having been a professional musician for over 10 years. Pol is interested in expanding the scope of the field of choreography, exploring questions of memory and temporality, language and translation, and the concept of the archive in dance, with a particular interest for site-specific work. In 2017, he founded the company NO DRAMA in France and has since created the solos ECCE (H)OMO (2017), ALEXANDRE (2018), Me Too, Galatée (2018) and LA (2019). In 2020, he created daté-e-s, an intergenerational trio created for the Rencontres Chorégraphiques de Seine Saint-Denis.
