With Fampitaha, fampita, fampitàna, meaning comparison, transmission and rivalry in Malagasy, choreographer Soa Ratsifandrihana creates a story she would have liked to hear and see. A mix of radio, music and choreography, this diasporic show plays with orality and movement, reminding us that our bodies, just like our words and sounds, carry stories. Soa is joined by guitarist Joël Rabesolo and performers Audrey Merilus and Stanley Ollivier, with whom she travels towards a wandering, a creolisation perhaps.

Soa Ratsifandrihana
is a Franco-Malagasy dancer and choreographer based in Brussels. After studying at the CNSMD in Paris, Soa worked with James Thierrée, Salia Sanou and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. In October 2021, she presented her first solo, g r oo v e, in Brussels. The show has been performed over forty times and continues to tour Europe. At the same time, Soa is working on a diptych in which she tells a story she would have liked to hear as a child. This story will take the form of a radio production Ce n'est pas moi qui mens, ce sont les anciens and a show entitled Fampitaha, fampita, fampitàna. Following on from her first solo, she explores the possible entanglements between different media, from radio storytelling to choreographic and musical composition. Her work reminds us that our bodies, just like our words, are bearers of stories, and that however we communicate them, they must be told. Soa is an associate artist of Kaaitheater from 2023 to 2025.
